Thermoplastic increases the durability and longevity of road markings. Typically, it is used for transverse markings that receive the most wear from motor vehicles, such as stop bars, crosswalks, and arrows. Thermoplastic can be surface applied or inlaid. For most Capital Projects, thermoplastic is being specified for longitudinal markings as it can last up to 7 years before requiring maintenance.
